Jia Lin graduated from La Trobe University, Melbourne, in 2014 with a Bachelor in Health Sciences and Master of Podiatric Practice under a scholarship from then-Alexandra Health.
Before joining Urban Rehab, she was working at Physio and Sole clinic for 4 years as a principal podiatrist with a deeper understanding in managing paediatric foot and ankle conditions alongside with their paediatric physiotherapist. Prior to that she was working at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) as a senior podiatrist and won the service champion award for 5 consecutive years for going above and beyond for her patients. She was also elected to the executive committee of the Podiatry Association (Singapore) and served as treasurer for 2 years from 2015-2016.
Jia Lin’s expertise lies in the management of complex wounds. In her tenure at KTPH, she was the diabetic foot unit lead in wound management and was instrumental in setting up the first diabetic foot unit in Singapore. She specialises in managing various types of wounds ranging from vascular ulcers to plastic reconstruction flaps, from diabetic foot wounds to delicate skin graft wounds. As the overall podiatry in charge for the joint consult clinic, she worked in conjunction with vascular, orthopaedic as well as plastic surgeons to provide multidisciplinary holistic care for these patients.
Aside from the aforementioned, Jia Lin also has a keen interest in paediatric podiatry (after being inspired during a dedicated rotation in an acute hospital paediatric department in Australia and through her extensive reading into the field), biomechanical pathologies and general footcare. Nothing gives her greater pleasure than being able to aid in the recovery of her patients and seeing them walk out of the clinic with a smile.
